Michael Ridpath is a member of the Crime Writers Organization and treasurer of the State Literary Trust. Married to an American, Barbara, a financial analyst. Their family has three children: Julia, Laura and Nicholas. The writer currently lives with his family in the London suburb of Hampstead. Today Michael Ridpath is one of Britain's most famous writers. Michael Ridpath's financial thrillers regularly became bestsellers and were quickly translated in different countries, incl. Germany, France, Russia, China, etc. In June 2010, Michael published the first novel about detective Magnus Johnson - “Where the Shadows Lie” - in a completely new style. In this book, an American detective temporarily returns to Iceland, where he was born and grew up until he was 12 years old, and investigates the case of the disappearance of a medieval manuscript and the murder of a professor, an expert on Old Icelandic sagas.
