About the book: 1961 / Dear friends! This book will tell you about the heroic struggle of German anti-fascists, about their unyielding courage and resilience. It is based on events that actually took place. In 1921 in Germany, a strike broke out among the miners of the Mansfeld mines in protest against police provocations. Soon, all of Central Germany was engulfed in uprising. In these harsh and heroic days for the German proletariat, the miners of the Dzerzhinsky mine in Krivoy Rog provided great support to the Mansfeld miners. They decided to work a few extra shifts for the benefit of the families of the striking workers. Soon money was sent to Mansfeld. A lively correspondence began between the cities, which laid the foundation for many years of their friendship, and in 1929, the miners of Krivoy Rog sent the miners of Mansfeld a red banner - a symbol of brotherhood and unity. The words were embroidered on the scarlet velvet of the banner: “Proletarians of all countries, unite!” On behalf of the miners of Mansfeld, the German communist Otto Brozowski accepted the banner. He vowed to protect and preserve it like the apple of his eye. You will learn about the further fate of this wonderful man and his comrades, how they managed to preserve the banner during the terrible years of fascism, and about many other interesting events when you read this book.
