About the book: 2001 / This work examines the problem of the role of Islam in conflict zones (the so-called “hot spots”) of those regions of the CIS where compact Muslims live. Such a topic cannot but be considered relevant, since in the CIS the majority of regional wars occurred precisely in Muslim areas. An attempt is made to understand the situation in conflict zones in the CIS (including potential ones), where Islam was an important component of the ideology of one of the warring parties.
