About the book: 2020 / Bhagavad Gita is one of the three sources and supports (prastana-traya, which includes the Upanishads, Brahma Sutras and Bhagavad Gita ), on which the philosophy of Advaita Vedanta is based. To understand the meaning of the Bhagavad Gita, it is not enough to read one or even several translations; understanding such texts necessarily includes changing one’s own worldview. Such learning is possible only in the presence of a teacher who explains every word, reveals every idea. Our study is based on the centuries-old tradition of transmission of the teachings of Advaita Vedanta, starting with the commentaries of Adi Shankaracharya and up to modern Teachers of the tradition.
