About the book: year / The author of this article O. V. Petrenko is a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, a specialist in the field of solid state physics, laureate of diploma I degree of the Moscow State University competition for young scientists. He is the author of more than 40 scientific works on physics. And yet, this article, like the recently published book by O. Petrenko “The Confidence of Thomas” (Valaam Monastery Publishing House, M., 1997), is not an analysis of religion using physics. On the contrary, they represent an attempt by a believer to comprehend the latest scientific data, which, according to the author, clearly and unambiguously testify to the Creator. For an ordinary scientist, who has long ceased to think about eternal questions in the hustle and bustle, new results that have appeared in the last 15-20 years , came as a complete surprise. Moreover, this surprise turned out to be unpleasant for many. The fact is that the new situation in science confronts a person with a moral choice. Or accept the arguments of common sense with the inevitable consequences - live according to God's commandments and fulfill His good will. Or pretend that nothing happened and wait for some additional clarifications that, perhaps, will return the lost support from under your feet. But in reality, something is being realized that cannot be rationally explained. Today in the highest scientific circles it is believed that the traditional scientific method has exhausted itself, and in order to move forward in the knowledge of nature, it is necessary to involve other “channels” of information, the concepts of which are borrowed from Eastern occult mysticism. A very significant situation is emerging. Science, which has now entered adulthood, has accumulated, through the rational method of cognition, a whole array of systemic, fundamental knowledge about nature. The long, honest and painstaking work of many generations of scientists has finally begun to bear good fruit. But now, when the role of an opponent, unusual and imposed on science from the outside, is being restored to its true face as a faithful daughter and closest helper of faith, there is a conscious rejection of rational logic. The latter is being replaced by theosophy with its muddy irrationality and painful fantasies that have no real basis. A few words here are appropriate to say about the destructive role of the so-called Brussels scientific school, headed by I. Prigogine. Its fundamental thesis is openly anti-God in nature: “chaos is the cause of ordering, it carries within itself the properties of an organizing principle.” Or, in other words, “chaos creates order” itself without any outside help. This ideological postulate is based on an incorrect interpretation of some physical experiments, the falsity of which was recently convincingly shown by a theoretical group led by Dr. Ph.D. S.I. Yakovlenko. Indeed, “for judgment (the Lord) came into this world, so that those who do not see would see, and those who see would become blind” (John 9:39). But let us leave the latter to “bury their dead” (Matt.. 8: 22).
