MediaDB / «Dostoevsky and his paradoxes" Alexander Sukonik: download fb2, read online
About the book: 2015 / The book is devoted to the analysis of Dostoevsky’s poetics in the light of the fragmentation of the writer’s worldview between European and Russian (Byzantine) ways of cultural thinking. Analyzing three works of the great writer: “Notes from the House of the Dead”, “Notes from the Underground” and “Crime and Punishment”, the author shows how Dostoevsky overcomes this fragmentation by basing his artistic method on the highest form of irony - paradox. At the same time, on a broader scale, the author draws attention to how Dostoevsky artistically comprehends the conflict between rational (“scientific”, “philosophical”) and artistic (“literary”) ways of thinking and how he gives unconditional preference to the latter in the context of the Russian cultural universe.
