About the book: 1969 / In his book, Anatoly Konstantinovich Rozhdestvensky talks about the work of paleontological expeditions in the Gobi Desert - in the Mongolian People's Republic and China. The expeditions organized in the middle of the last century were crowned with complete success. Rich localities of individual bones, entire dinosaur skeletons and eggs, remains of Paleogene and Tertiary mammals, turtles, and other extinct animals, as well as plants, were discovered. The finds have expanded our knowledge about the distant past of the Earth, many of them have become an adornment of the exhibitions of paleontological museums of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR and Mongolia. The first half of the book, telling about the Mongolian paleontological expedition (1946-49), echoes Ivan Efremov’s book “The Road of the Winds”. Both took an active part in the work of the expedition and published their impressions and memories.
