About the book: 1982 / Alexey Logunov was born in the village of Cheremukhovo, Tula region, not far from the Kulikovo field. Like many of his peers—teenagers of the post-war years—he set out on his first career path on his native collective farm. After studying at the FZO school as a mason, his working history began on urban and rural construction sites. Then he worked in newspapers and on television. It was these years that formed the basis of his creative maturity. Alexey Logunov’s authorship includes poems, short stories, and now novellas. But prose took precedence over his poems, you read it, and you recognize the poet in it. You see in this prose pictures of your native nature with impatient streams and rivers, with forests and copses that have become quiet after the military thunderstorms that roared over the Tula land, willow beams and boundless, until the very surrounded by fields... And in the center of the majestic picture of central Russia stands a man-worker, a man-master, a man - the defender of this land. The Kulikovo field, the people living on it, is the main theme of the works of A. Logunov. He writes about his heroes with warmth, with faith in the good qualities of man. Nikolay AGEEV
