About the book: year / Andrey Lvovich Livadny is a modern Russian science fiction writer. Writes action and adventure science fiction. Began publishing in 1998. Since then he has already published many novels, novellas and short stories. Most of the works are combined into the grandiose cycle “History of the Galaxy,” covering the development of humanity over the next 2 thousand years. Lives in Pskov. Married, has an adult son. In addition to his main work and everyday affairs, the author continued his hobby - the first works were created at night, first by hand, then using a typewriter. At first, he did not set himself the goal of necessarily publishing the manuscripts - they reflected his inner need to dream, to give to paper some of his accumulated thoughts and impressions. Apart from the author’s friend and now wife, Svetlana, no one took this kind of “creativity for the table” seriously. Friends openly laughed at their family, and only his wife helped Andrei, especially at the beginning of a serious, meaningful journey, when the characters of the heroes of “Roses for Cyborg”, “Paradise Lost” and “Island of Hope” were emerging. They discussed each one together, sometimes disagreeing to the point of mutual insults, but this helped the author not only create the books themselves, but also find his own style. The first science fiction works were the novels “Star Ram” and “Ash Light”, as well as the story “Island of Hope”. “Star Ram” exists only in a handwritten version (it can be seen on the page of rarities), “Ash Light” was published in samizdat in 1990, as was the collection “Planet of the Blue Devils” (the author recently returned to the story of the same name, creating a story based on it “ Forerunners"). These two books, a collection of stories and a novel, published with his father’s money, brought nothing but some confidence in their abilities, although the works themselves now only make Andrei smile. The year 1997 was a turning point. By this time, the story “Island of Hope” had turned out to be a good story, then the author finished work on “A Rose for Cyborg” and at the same time wrote a draft version of the novel “Paradise Lost.” In the fall of 1997, he signed the first agreement with the EKSMO publishing house, and a year later the author’s collection was published under the general title “Rose for Cyborg.” Since then, dozens of novels, novellas and short stories have been published in three series: “Expansion”, “Absolute Weapon” and “Steel Rat”. Of which I will separately highlight the novel “Flash” (in the publishing version - “Step to the Stars”).
