About the book: 2012 / Shankara, (also Adi Shankara, i.e. the Original Shankara, in contrast to the titles of the heads of the monastic orders founded by him ), or Shankaracharya (788 - 812 AD) - the greatest philosopher of Hinduism and the main representative of the Advaita Vedanta movement in it. The most important works: commentaries on the Brahma Sutras, 11 elder Upanishads and the Bhagavad Gita. The author of a number of magnificent hymns and religious and philosophical poems, including Vivekachudamani (Diamond in the Crown of Discrimination). Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi is one of the greatest spiritual Teachers, who at the age of 16 spontaneously achieved Enlightenment, or Self-realization, awareness of his true Self. in our time, his teaching serves as an inspiring example of the Path of Knowledge, indicated earlier by the sages of the Upanishads, Buddha (563–483 BC) and Shankara. At the request of his admirers, Sri Ramana translated Vivekachudamani's poem into Tamil in prose. According to him, Shankara interpreted in detail the essence of Vedanta and its meaning so that the most zealous of those striving for Liberation could become familiar with it and achieve Immortality. Therefore, this publication will be extremely useful to all aspiring spiritual practitioners.
