Having gone through mental suffering and a painful search for truth, the author gains faith in Christ, which brings liberation to the soul from the burden of passions and doubts. The narration is told in the first person, which gives the book the character of a vivid, living testimony of personal spiritual experience. And this testimony is truly extraordinary. One is struck by the seriousness and intention to be honest in one’s confession to the end, and the author’s willingness to reveal to people his mental anguish and the joy of the Finding. It is gratifying to see how lovingly and respectfully the Iranian oppositionist and former socialist speaks about all his neighbors, relatives, teachers and helpers, regardless of their religion. Even rejecting what turned out to be alien to the soul, the author tries to understand and not judge the people who have been with him all these years. Finally, the special, poetic intonation of the book “We Will Be Comforted” is captivating, with repetitions and recitatives characteristic of the literary tradition of the East.
