About the book: 1997 / The title contains the names of two characters in the famous play "The Forest" by Ostrovsky. The play intertwines theater and reality, the acted and the real, in the most absurd way. Two actors, a tragedian and a comedian, are either themselves or turn into one of their images. There is a lot of absurdity in the play. For example, they bring to them a former Central Committee employee who has gone crazy and knows where the party gold is buried. But he is ready to share this information only personally with the leaders of the party. Therefore, in order to help the intelligence services, actors have to portray Stalin and Voroshilov. And in the second part of the play, our heroes perform on the regional stage in the roles of Don Juan and Leporello.
